Quick Bread Snack

A lovely bread based snack.
CookingTime : 5 minutes.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes.
Serves 4.
Ingredients

10 to 12 bread slices
2 teaspoons mustard seeds
2 onions, chopped
2 curry leaves
2 tomatoes, chopped
4 to 5 green chillies, chopped
1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
juice of 1 lemon (approx.)
2 tablespoons chopped coriander
2 tablespoons oil
salt to taste

Method
1. Soak the bread slices in a little water for a few minutes. Squeeze out the water and crumble thoroughly.
2. Heat the oil and fry the mustard seeds until they begin to crackle. Add the onions and curry leaves and fry again until the oinons are light pink in colour.
3. Add the tomatoes, green chillies and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
4. Add the crumbled bread, tomato ketchup, lemon juice, coriander and salt and cook for 1 minute.
5. Serve hot.

I did exactly as you told, however the whole thing becomes like a paste. Is it because I soaked the bread for more time (5 min) or is it because I didnt drain the water ? I feel if we just sprinkle some water on the slices and then break them into pieces it will be good.

In your recipe, since we soak the bread in water, after crumbling it becomes a paste. Could you give any suggestions for me ?

This snack works great even if you dont soak the bread in water. Just cut the bread into small cubes and add to the dish.
