Quick Tava Rice - Main Course

A mildly spiced rice which can be made very quickly. Ensure that each grain of the cooked rice is separate.
Cooking Time : 10 min.
Preparation Time : 10 min.
Serves 4.


2 teacups cooked rice
1 onion, sliced
3 cloves crushed garlic
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 capsicum, sliced
1 tomato, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh curds
3 tablespoons oil
salt to taste

For garnishing

grated cheese (optional)

* Heat the oil in a tava and fry the onions for 1 minute.
* Add the garlic and fry again for a few seconds.
* Add the chilli and turmeric powders, capsicum, tomato and curds and fry again for a few minutes.
* Add the cooked rice and salt and cook again for a few minutes.
* If you like, sprinkle cheese on top.
* Serve hot.
